Packing Checklist

The most popular question we receive is what do you need to have while trekking the Andes.  Here is a suggested list of items to not forget with you.

Alpaca provides foam matts and pillows for all trekkers that camp in the Andes.  Air matts for extra cushion is available to rent.  Water is provided on the treks, but you need to provide water for your very first morning – we won’t have a chance to boil and purify water until lunch that first day, so bring enough water for a few hours that first day.

For all of your belongings that you are packing in the duffel, I strongly recommend to organize things by placing in large ziplocked bags.  This is helpful to find things, keep the dirty away from clean, and most importantly, extra protection in case of rain.
